Phonak Hearing Aids

✓ Changing Filters
Filters, also known as wax guards, act as a shield for your hearing aid's sensitive speaker, protecting it from earwax, dust, and moisture. By preventing dirt from clogging the sound outlet, they help keep your audio crisp and clear. Without a filter, debris can negatively affect performance or even damage the unit.
We recommend changing the filters every 2–3 weeks, or sooner if you notice a drop in volume or clarity. Check out the video below to see just how easy it is to replace them. You can buy filters for the Phonak Infinio and Sphere Infinio here.

✓ Cleaning
Cleaning the Exterior
Simply wipe the surface of your hearing aids with a soft, dry cloth to clear away any dirt or moisture. Always ensure your hands are clean and dry before touching your hearing aids. Important: Never rinse your hearing aid under running water or clean it with harsh chemicals or detergents.
Cleaning Speakers and Domes
To remove dirt and moisture, simply wipe the speakers with an alcohol-based or antibacterial cleaning wipe. You can also use an antibacterial cleaning spray to moisten the wipe. Important: Never hold the speakers under running water and avoid using harsh cleaning products.
Drying Capsules
If your devices are often exposed to sweat or humidity, we recommend investing in a drying case or drying capsule. These tools draw moisture out of your hearing aids in just a few hours, effectively preventing corrosion. Note that newer models, such as the Phonak Infinio, are certified as splash and sweat-resistant, offering improved protection against moisture.
✓ Domes
Replacing Domes
Silicone or rubber domes naturally get dirty and wear down over time. To clean them, simply detach the dome from the speaker and wipe away any dirt using water or cleaning spray and a fiber cloth. You can replace the domes whenever necessary. New domes for Phonak devices in all sizes and styles are available
✓ Sports Locks/ Retention Locks
Sports Locks (or retention locks) are designed to keep your hearing aid and dome securely in place, preventing them from shifting or falling out during physical activity. They are very durable and almost never need replacing. However, if you do lose one, you can reorder them online. Important: If you are not using the standard Phonak M-Receiver (e.g., if you have an S-Receiver or P-Receiver), make sure to order the sports locks specifially designed for S-Receiver or P-Receiver.
