Who is behind Migelino?

Migelino was founded by a group of young Swiss entrepreneurs in the summer of 2016. Inspired by media coverage, we extensively researched the topic of "prices for medical aids." During our research, we found that there are still significant information and power imbalances, especially in the field of hearing aids.

 

Our Goal and Vision

 

Migelino aims to contribute to increasing transparency in the hearing aid market. Therefore, we advocate for an open and fair pricing policy - without ifs and buts, and especially without hidden additional costs or additional service packages that are unfortunately still often imposed on customers.

 

Process of Buying Hearing Aids

 

How is the adjustment of my hearing aids done?

Buying hearing aids has never been easier. The process is as follows:

 1. You select the desired hearing aid and inform us of your choice - if you are unsure which device suits your individual needs, use our Hearing aid questionnaire or ask our audiologists to discuss which device makes the most sense for your individual needs and preferences.

2. Our hearing aid specialists will get in touch with you. Alternatively, you can also reach us directly at 040 22897085 or support@migelino.us to discuss which device makes the most sense for you.

3. You send us your hearing test/audiogram. If you don't have a hearing test yet, call us. Together we will find a solution.

4. The hearing aids are pre-programmed based on your hearing test and sent to you by mail.

5. Through remote adjustment, our audiologist optimally adjusts your new hearing aids to your hearing. Throughout the process, our specialists are available to answer any questions you may have at any time. Furthermore, these remote adjustments are included in the purchase price for 6 years. It's that simple!

Good to know: If you are not completely satisfied, you can take advantage of our 30-day return policy - at no cost.

What is included in the delivery?

We provide you with everything you need to start using the hearing aid. This means you will receive:

  • The hearing aid itself
  • Charging station or 10 packs of batteries
  • Receiver and domes in various sizes [or the appropriate sizes]
  • Filters and cleaning kit

This is all included in the hearing aid price!

Is purchasing in person also possible?

Not at the moment, but we are planning to open our own shops.

 

Prices and Payment

 

Migelino is much cheaper, how is that possible?

The hearing aid market is highly entrenched and dominated by a few providers.These have high fixed costs and keep prices high.

Migelino is much cheaper because we rethink the entire sales process for hearing aids - Our online model allows us to work much more efficiently and therefore more cost-effectively, without compromising quality!

This saves us from paying expensive rent in city center locations.

Our specialists are consistently busy, we have no "dead" waiting times in the store

We buy the devices in large quantities and calculate with lower margins

Our processes are highly digitized and optimized for the customer.


All these savings are passed directly on to you!

Is the adjustment included in the price?

Yes, and not only that. Also batteries/charger, receiver and domes, filters and cleaning kit are already included in the base price.

You can get started without any additional costs!

How can I pay, and am I protected?

When paying by invoice, we carry the risk. So you have nothing to worry about and can pay as soon as you have received the devices and everything is in order.

Do I need a prescription?

No, you do not need a prescription to buy hearing aids from us. However, a recent hearing test (no older than 6 months) is necessary for us to optimally adjust your hearing aids to your individual hearing loss.

Adjustment of Hearing Aids

 

How are my hearing aids adjusted?

Buying hearing aids has never been easier. The process is as follows:

Does the adjustment of the devices cost me anything?

No! The adjustment of the hearing aids is included in the price, along with the charger, 60 batteries, and a starter kit with cleaning utensils.

What are the advantages of buying online from Migelino?

Is a visit to an ENT doctor advisable? 

If you wish to apply for a subsidy from AHV or IV, or your health insurance in Germany, you'll need a prescription/confirmation from an ENT doctor stating that your hearing loss is significant enough. The ENT doctor can also rule out other diseases. For this reason, we recommend a visit to the ENT doctor, although it's not mandatory.

 

Shipping and Returns

 

Where does Migelino ship to?

We currently ship to the entire German-speaking area (Switzerland, Germany, Austria), Italy and USA with plans for other countries in the near future.

How much are the shipping costs?

For hearing aids, we charge the a standard fee of 10 USD. We ship hearing aids insured and against signature.

Does Migelino offer a return policy?

Yes!

We believe in our service, and we want our customers to be satisfied. If you're not satisfied, you can return the hearing aid to us within 30 days of receipt.

We won't charge you any costs, so you can buy from us risk-free.

If you would like to return your hearing aids, simply send us an email to: support@migelino.us and we will send you a return slip via email.

 

Warranty/Insurance

 

How many years of warranty do I have on the devices?

We provide a standard two-year warranty on all hearing aids.

NEW as of 11:03.2024:

We provide a standard three-year warranty on Phonak devices

We provide a standard three-year warranty on Oticon devices

 

The warranty covers manufacturing and material defects in the hearing aid or charger itself, but not accessories such as tubes, ear molds, or external receivers. No warranty claims exist for damage caused by improper handling or care, chemical influences, or overuse. The warranty may be voided for damage caused by third parties or unauthorized service centers. This warranty does not cover the services performed by an audiologist.

Can I extend the warranty?

Yes - for a one-time payment of 99 USD/ear, the warranty can be extended to 4 years.

Is there insurance against loss, theft, etc.?

Yes, that's not a problem - if you want such insurance, mention it when purchasing the devices. We will gladly provide you with an offer from our insurance partner.

 

Repairs

 

How are repairs handled?

Within the warranty period

If there is a warranty issue, we will take care of the process. The process is as follows:

  • You send us the defective hearing aid.
  • If it is a minor defect (e.g., defective receiver), we can repair it on-site and return the device to you on the same day.
  • If the hearing aid needs to be sent to the manufacturer, we will provide you with a transitional device free of charge so that you do not have to wait without hearing aids.
  • We will send you back the repaired (or possibly a new) device, and you will send us the replacement device with the same package.

Even after the warranty, we are available as your audiologist for repairs at any time.

How much does a repair cost outside of the warranty?

If the warranty of two or four years has expired, you will pay the following prices per hearing aid for any necessary repairs:

Battery replacement = 60 USD

Minor repairs = 75 USD

Major repairs = 180 USD

Minor repairs primarily refer to cosmetic defects. Major repairs, on the other hand, are necessary for technically complex defects. An example of this is a defective processor.

Who will help me if I have problems with my hearing aids?

Care and Cleaning

 

Can I clean the hearing aids myself?

Yes! Cleaning hearing aids is very easy. You will receive a well-equipped cleaning kit from us free of charge. Instructions and care tips for your hearing aid can be found here. Cleaning your hearing aid is limited to a few simple steps that anyone can perform. We are available at any time if you have any questions.

How can I keep the devices dry?

Moisture is the enemy of every hearing aid. Especially if you enjoy sports, naturally sweat a lot, or are concerned that the hearing aids may get wet in other ways, we recommend a drying box for you. You can either opt for a simple plastic drying box with drying capsules (included) or a professional UV drying box.
